Using PC Fitness means accepting this page

If you create an account or use the planner, these terms apply to you. If you do not accept them, do not create an account. They can change; the date at the top moves when they do, and continuing to use the tool after that is how you accept the change.

Access is by invitation, and an account is not access

PC Fitness is invitation-only while it is in beta. Anyone can create an account — that part is open — but an account on its own cannot save a single project. Approval is a separate record, and the database rules refuse every project write from an account that does not hold one. There is no way round that from the outside, because those rules are the whole of the server side of this product.

There are two ways in and both end with a person deciding. The owner invites your email address, and you accept the invitation from the account signed in with that address, after confirming it. Or you ask to be let in, and the owner reads the request by hand and answers it. Expect a day or two rather than a few minutes; nothing about this is automatic, and there is no queue moving on its own.

Approval can be withdrawn, and this page will not dress that up. What it means precisely: you stop being able to save. It does not delete anything you drew and it does not lock you out of it — you can still open, export and delete your own projects afterwards, which is deliberate and is written into the rules that way. What is recorded about an invitation or a request, and how long it is kept, is in the privacy notice.

What the tool is for

PC Fitness lays out commercial gym floors procedurally: it solves egress before it places equipment, then arranges equipment into banks at the clearances its rule pack specifies. The result is a design study — something to scope with, budget from and put in front of a client. It is not a permit set, and it is not a substitute for a design professional.

It does not certify compliance with any building code

That is not a formality, and the reasons are on the record. The US rule pack holds 30 values; seven are marked verified, and every one of those seven is our own design target or trade practice — a circulation width we chose, not a code minimum. The other 23 are placeholders that name the section a human still has to open, and not one has been checked against the published standard. The catalog is in the same position: 7 of 26 equipment records have all four dimensions confirmed against a manufacturer document, and a wrong footprint silently corrupts every layout that uses it. All of this is set out in full in the honest limits on the landing page, and the app shows the status of each record while you work.

So: occupant load, exit capacity, travel distance, accessible route, clearances, anything at all that a plan examiner would look at — must be confirmed against the code edition your jurisdiction actually enforces, by somebody licensed to do it, before anything is built. If you take an output of this tool to a contractor without that review, that is your decision and its consequences are yours.

No warranty

PC Fitness is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind — not of accuracy, not of fitness for any purpose, not of availability. The layouts, the dimensions, the equipment data and the prices may be wrong. Check anything you are going to rely on.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the person who runs PC Fitness is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it: construction cost, rework, a rejected permit application, lost time, lost work or lost data. If a limit of liability cannot be excluded where you are, it is limited to what you have paid to use PC Fitness, which is nothing.

This is a personal project, and it may go away

PC Fitness is built and run by one person. It is free, there is no company behind it, there is no support contract, and there is no service level of any kind. It can change or stop without notice, and an account can be closed if it is being used to attack the service or run up its costs.

Because of that, the single most important habit is this: keep your own copies. Use File ▸ Export ▸ Project file (JSON) for anything you would be upset to lose. That file is the complete project and it can be imported back. Browser storage is not a backup and neither is somebody else's database.

Your account, and your work

You are responsible for your account and for what is done with it. Use a password you do not use elsewhere, and tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else has it.

The floor plans you draw are yours. Using PC Fitness gives nobody any ownership of them, and no right to use them for anything. What happens to them technically — where they are stored, who can read them, how to get them out, how to delete them — is set out in the privacy notice.

The tool itself, its rule packs, its catalog and this site are not yours: you get to use them, not to copy them, resell them or run them as your own service.

Fair use of a free service

The database behind this costs real money per operation and is on a free tier. Do not script it, do not load-test it, and do not try to reach another account's data. The rules will stop you, but the attempt still costs money. If you want to test the security of this, read /.well-known/security.txt first — there is a route for that, and it is welcome through that route.

Equipment names and manufacturer data

The catalog names real products so that a layout means something. Those names and trademarks belong to their manufacturers, who have not endorsed, reviewed or sponsored this tool and are not associated with it. No manufacturer 3D model, logo or image is distributed with the app — there is not one in the repository, and the 3D view builds its own proxy shapes.

Two things in that catalog need separating, because they are not in the same state. Dimensions are transcribed from published manufacturer documents, they carry a verification status you can see on each record, and 19 of the 26 have not been confirmed. Prices are worse than that: every record carries one, and not one of them has a source or a date attached — there is no field in the data to put a source in. Treat every figure in the budget as a placeholder for your own rate card. Do not order equipment, and do not quote a client, from this schedule without checking it against the manufacturer's own document.

Where these terms are governed

Nothing. There is no company here, no registered address and no lawyer has looked at this page, so it does not name a jurisdiction, a governing law or a venue. This is a plain statement of the terms on which a free tool is offered, not a contract drafted by anyone. If you need something more formal than that before you can use it, then it is not ready for you yet, and that is a straight answer rather than a hedge.
